HUNDRED REASONS AT ENGINEROOMS (LAST EVER SOUTH COAST HEADLINE SHOW)

You’d be forgiven for being shocked by the announcement of Glorious Sunset, the fifth studio album from Hundred Reasons. It is, after all, a release even its authors hadn’t seen as a realistic possibility at one point. “There were many years when the prospect of a new Hundred Reasons record wasn’t a reality,” guitarist and producer Larry Hibbitt says of the 15 years separating Glorious Sunset from its predecessor, 2007’s Quick The Word, Sharp The Action. “Until it existed, it was unlikely it was going to.”

“We’ve all gone on to do different things over the years,” says singer Colin Doran of the various projects and personal commitments that have occupied the four men in Hundred Reasons - completed by bassist Andy Gilmour and drummer Andy Bews. “So this album isn’t something we felt we had to do. We simply arrived at a position where the music was so good that it was something we <<needed>> to do.”

It appears the singer’s talents extend to understatement, because Glorious Sunset is better than good; it’s the best Hundred Reasons record since their 2002 debut, Ideas Above Our Station.

Formed in late 1999, Hundred Reasons released four studio albums, a live DVD, two live albums, had six Top 40 singles and sold over 250,000 albums.
