REGENT

Following the release of their sophomore album and a string of singles last year, Southampton-born band Regent return this April with a new track titled I Feel For You”, a tale of lost love and liberation.

Opening with euphoric drums and Britpop-indebted guitar twangs, “I Feel For You” is the upcoming single from indie-rockers Regent. The track is a blistering account of breakups, as well as the self-pity and self-love that they breed. Brutally honest verses detail romantic escapades and arguments, while choruses full of feeling show off a softer side to Regent as lead singer Ben Rooke repeats the title phrase.

The song is about break ups,” Rooke shares, love, hate, acceptance, and pitying certain aspects of a breakup. Its about being true to yourself when being mistreated, about liberating yourself, self love, and moving on whilst forgiving whoever let you down because of their own problems. Being the bigger person, the higher power, and walking away from egotistical stances…”

The lyrical intensity is matched by a raucous guitar solo at the height of the track, as well as Rooke’s increasingly emotive vocals. “I Feel For You” looks to channel every messy, sad, and beautiful post-breakup emotion into a four minute runtime, balancing commiseration with catharsis in every strum.

Following the release of “I Feel For You”, Regent will play a hometown show at The Joiners in Southampton on Saturday 26th April, before they embark upon a run of support slots with Fun Lovin’ Criminals’ frontman Huey Morgan. The band will play two shows with Morgan this May in Hampshire and Bournemouth.
